OKARA, Feb 14: Scores of agriculturists of several villages protested on Tuesday against shortage of water. Gathering outside the press club, the people from Renala Khurd tehsil, led by lumberdar Chaudhry Allah Ditta Kahloon, demanded that the irrigation department should release canal water to the 1-AL minors and distributaries as all others had been getting water for the last 10 days.

It is pertinent to mention that the underground water of these 35 villages is unfit for consumption and the villagers have been facing a great deal of difficulty owing to water shortage.

CASE: The Hujra Shah Muqeem police on Tuesday registered a case against Abdul Mannan alias Chand, a resident of old Zargar Bazaar, for distributing pamphlets with objectionable contents. A case has been instituted also against the printing press owner.
