Govt to subsidize irrigation system

KARACHI, Feb 14: The Sindh government will subsidize sprinkle and trickle irrigation systems by 80 per cent to conserve water and improve crop yield and quality.

This was stated by the Adviser to the chief minister on Food and Agriculture, Ghulam Murtuza Khan Jatoi, during a visit to the modern irrigation supply systems at the demonstration site of Engro Asahai Polymer & Chemical Limited.

He was briefed by President Engro Asahai Asif Qadir and Public Affairs Manager Wajid Hussain Junejo, says a press release.

On his trip to the demonstration site in Gadap, Mr Jatoi visited the orchard farms which had been converted from the orthodox flood irrigation system to the latest technology of trickle and micro irrigation system.
