BD offered powerlooms at cheaper rates

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: Pakistan will provide powerlooms and spare parts at competitive prices to Bangladesh. This was stated by Minister for Textile Industry Mushtaq Ali Cheema while talking to a 35-member delegation of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) here on Tuesday.
An official announcement said that Pakistan would fully cooperate with Bangladesh in textile and textile machinery particularly manufacturing of the quality powerlooms and spare parts.
Mr Cheema also offered that Pakistan could cooperate with Bangladesh in light engineering sector as it has good skills in light engineering machineries.
He further said that Pakistan could also help Bangladesh in finished fabric goods because Pakistan has invested above $5 billion in textile sector for updating the textile industry due to demand of modern era.
The head of FBCCI delegation Mir Nasir Hossain said that Bangladesh was very keen in joint ventures with Pakistani particularly in the field of textile and pharmaceutical sectors.
