SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Four suspected militants have been shot dead by security forces in occupied Kashmir, police said on Monday. Two militants died in a gunbattle on Monday in Yaripora village in southern Anantnag district, a police official said. Both were members of the Lashkar-i-Taiba group, he said.

In separate incidents, two unidentified rebels were killed in attacks by security troops in northern Baramulla and Kupwara districts late on Sunday, the official said. One militant died in an ambush in Sumblar village in Baramulla district, while the other was gunned down while hiding in a house in Kupwara district.—AFP
