KARACHI: Fire station inaugurated in Liaquatabad Town
KARACHI, Feb 13: The nazim of the Liaquatabad Town, Osama Qadri, inaugurated a fire station established under the Liaquatabad Flyover over. Speaking on the occasion, the town nazim said that the fire station would provide emergency services to the area residents as well as markets and shopping centre on a permanent basis, said a news release issued on Monday.
“By setting up fire station, the Haq Parast elected representatives have given practical shape to the longstanding demand of the people”, he said.
At the initial stage, the fire station will be operative from morning till late evening, however after getting necessary facilities it would function round the clock, he said.
Naib Nazim Tasneemul Hassan Farooqui and Chief Fire Officer Kazim Ali were also present.
ORANGI TOWN: On the directives of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, the town municipal administration of Orangi Town has decided to carry out cleanliness work in the town on a day and night basis.
The garbage gathered during the day would be shifted to dumping site at night, decided the meeting held under the chairmanship of Orangi Town Nazim Abdul Haq.
He directed the officials concerned and staff to work round the clock to ensure clean and healthy atmosphere in the town. The town nazim also ordered the UC nazims and naib nazims to ensure quick resolution of public complaints.
He said with concerted efforts the Orangi Town would be brought at par with other developed towns of the city.
Naib Nazim Shahid Bashir, TMO Qamar Shaikh, TO Infrastructure Nazir Khalifo and other officers of the town attended the meeting.
SHAH FAISAL TOWN: Following the directives of the city nazim for taking stern action against encroachments, Shah Faisal Town Nazim Mohammad Imran on Monday ordered the owners of hotels, restaurants, garages, shops etc to remove all kinds of encroachments within three days.
“Clear all the roads and footpaths of vehicles and other encroachments in three days or otherwise stern action would be taken,” he warned adding that even chairs and tables would not be allowed.
He issued these directives during a visit to the town areas during which he took stock of the encroachments and sanitary conditions, a release said.
The town nazim directed the anti-encroachment cell officials to improve their performance and ensure that no encroachment resurfaced in future.
He resented the installation of cabins, presence of pushcarts and other makeshift shops on the roads and ordered the area police to take action against the encroachers.
The town nazim also warned of action against the officials concerned in case the encroachments resurfaced in future.—APP/PPI
