Resource boards

LAHORE, Feb 11: Need for activation of district human resource boards was stressed at a meeting of the Umang Development Foundation held here on Saturday.

Foundation chairman Hanif Ramay said that boards comprising EDOs for community development, information technology, human resource, education and industries, representatives of employers and workers and headed by district nazims were not playing the desired role for the welfare of workers as these were not meeting regularly every month in most of districts.

Foundation secretary-general Fauzia Naureen said that boards could play a significant role in solving the problems of workers and employers and resolving industrial disputes because of having the representation of all stakeholders. — Reporter
