Hospital sealed after death of woman

SUKKUR, Feb 11: On the directives of the Sindh chief minister, the health authorities have sealed a private hospital Darul Shifa following the death of a woman patient on February 6 due to administration of wrong injection.

Taking a serious notice of the incident, the Sindh chief minister had ordered an inquiry into the matter.

A woman, Masooda Unnar, was admitted to the hospital following labour pains.

A nurse Nabeela injected her an inter-muscular injection in a vein due to which she died on the spot. The relatives of the deceased had registered an FIR in this connection.

Following the inquiry conducted by the director general of Sindh health services, Mr Hadi Bux Jatoi, EDO health Dr Hafeez Memon, along with civil judge Shakeel Shaikh and police party, reached the hospital and told the owners to shift the patients to other hospital as it would be sealed.

Patients were shifted to the civil hospital and Anwar Paracha hospital after which the hospital was sealed excepting two rooms where two children were in critical condition.
