By Our Correspondent

COLOMBO, Feb 11: Thous-ands of Muslims across Sri Lanka staged demonstrations against the anti-Islam caricatures after Friday prayers. The protesters came out of mosques after the prayers in Colombo and towns in the eastern region, burning Danish flags spread out on the pavement.

The Muslim United Liberation Front, the Jamiyatul Ulema and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress organized the protests. The demonstrators in eastern towns like Kathankudi, Akkaairpathu and Maradamunai were particularly vehement in their condemnation of the European press.
