Port Qasim

KARACHI, Feb 11: Shipping activity remained brisk at the port where three ships carrying containers and diesel oil took berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours on Saturday.     Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and edible oil also got anchored at the outer anchorage.

A total of eight ships – C.V MSC Corinna, MSC Gallicum, M.T New Toyokaze, Tassels, Tain Bai Feng, New Legend Star, Hanibai-II and Angelic Peace — are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, edible oil, diesel oil, seeds, jute, chemicals and coke, respectively.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend where a cargo volume of 97,777 tons comprising 83,072 tons of import cargo and 14,705 tons of export cargo, inclusive of containerized carried in 2,014 containers boxes, was handled.

Three ships — M.T Amanat, C.V Mare Glicum and M.V Angelic Peace — sailed to sea. Two ships, M.V New Legend Star and C.V MSC Corinna, were expected to sail out on Saturday.     Four ships — C.V Bermudian Express, Merker Beach, M.V Armonikos and Sea Synergy -– were expected to take berths on Saturday.

Five ships, M.V Mar Reina, M.T Enriceo Evoli, Samho Heron, Euro Ace and Keefan, with iron ore, chemicals, seeds and diesel oil are due to arrive on Saturday.—APP
