Aisam wins, Aqeel loses

LAHORE, Feb 10: Pakistan and Taiwan were deadlocked 1-1 on the first day of Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group-1 first round at Taipei Tennis Centre, Taiwan, according to information received here on Friday.

Aisamul Haq gave Pakistan the ideal start when he outclassed Ti Chen in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 in the first singles.

But Aqeel Khan lost the second singles to Wang Yeu Tzoo also in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, 6-4.

Pakistan is likely to field both Aisam and Aqeel in doubles’s which could prove decisive in the outcome of the tie.
