Yasir top seed

KARACHI, Feb 10: Upcoming Yasir Khan, youngest of the Khan siblings now on Chinese Taipei tour with the Pakistan Davis Cup team as observer, has been top seeded in the men’s singles of the second Open tennis tournament which gets underway at the Karachi Gymkhana from Saturday.

According to seedings released by the Sindh Tennis Association (STA) on Friday, Yasir is followed by Khalid Ali Nazar, Aqeel Khan and Nomi Qamar.

The seedings were based on the points secured by players in the Sindh ranking competitions.

Sehr Khawaja has been placed on top in the women’s singles.

Similarly, Nasir Mushtaq is ranked No 1 in juniors’ U-17 while Zuhair Raza tops U-15 category.

The first round matches in men’s singles, juniors’ U-17, U-15 and U-13 singles begins Saturday. The women’s singles first round would begin from Monday.
