HYDERABAD, Feb 10: The Shia Ulema Council staged a demonstration at Qadamgah Maula Ali after Friday’s prayers in protest against the killing of about 35 mourners in bomb blasts in Hangu on Ashura day.

Led by Qazim Shah Naqvi, the protesters raised slogans against the United States and the Sipah-i-Sahaba.

Council leader Nizamul Hyderi said that in order to divert attention of the Muslims from publication of blasphemous cartoons in the European newspapers, America had masterminded killings of people in Hangu through its local agent.

He said the Shias and Sunnis were brothers and those who were trying to create sectarian riots were the enemies of Islam.

Sindh University: The University of Sindh has installed a drip irrigations system (DIS) at its Allama I.I. Kazi campus Jamshoro to manage available water in required quantity for the date palm trees.

The plantation section of the university organized an opening ceremony for launching the drip irrigation system.

Initially the DIS will cover date palm trees which have been planted by the university in the centre of arts faculty building and tomb of Allama I.I. Kazi.
