KARACHI, Feb 10: The Sindh Adviser on Environment, Alternate Energy and Information Technology, Noman Saigol, said on Friday that he had reinstated the provincial IT advisory board and urged market leaders in IT to come forward and help the government in making user-friendly policies.
Mr Saigol was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of an international call centre and training institute, Ensign Communique established by the Shaheen Foundation at Shaheen Complex, Karachi.
Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat was the chief guest, while City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and other armed forces and civil officials, local business executives, heads of financial institutions and elite of the city were also present on the occasion.
The adviser stressed the need for promoting IT and IT-related services to create jobs for the youth and asked the private sector to come forward and set up IT parks and training centres and offered his full support in this regard.
Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat said that call centres were becoming an integral part of many businesses in Pakistan and their economic significance was growing at a rapid rate.
Earlier, the chairman of Ensign Communique, Satish Anand, said that the Ensign Call Centre would open new vistas in BPO sector and generate jobs for the youth of Karachi.
He added that a 100 seat Resource Development Centre had also been established at the complex to train customer service representatives.—PPI
