Govt wants peace in Balochistan, PM tells Jam, Arbab

ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said the government desires peace and progress in Balochistan and to resolve issues through dialogue, but if anyone trying to challenge the writ of the government will be dealt with accordingly.
President Pervez Musharraf took personal interest in initiating many projects in addition to mega uplift schemes in the province, he said at a meeting with Chief Ministers Jam Muhammad Yousaf of Balochistan and Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim of Sindh at the Prime Minister’s House here on Wednesday.
He said the president wanted to improve the standard of living of the people of Balochistan and emphasized completion of all projects on time.
The prime minister said the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), with the help of its allies, would win the forthcoming Senate elections.
Jam Yousaf and Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim thanked the prime minister and PML president Shujaat Hussain for completing the process of nominations for Senate elections smoothly.
The prime minister discussed party matters with the chief ministers and said centenary celebrations of the PML should be held with enthusiasm in their provinces.
The chief ministers briefed the prime minister on the progress of work on development projects.
They also discussed matters relating to reorganization of the PML in Sindh and Balochistan.
Mr Aziz told Dr Arbab Rahim that the pace of development in Sindh needed to be expedited.
