JHANG, Feb 8: Police claimed on Wednesday to have held four people who were trying to disturb peace ahead of the Youm-i-Ashur.

According to police, Mohsin, a youngster, was handed over to the police by mourners at the Qasar-i-Zahra Imambargah where he tried to damage the tazia. Immediately after the incident, the army officials and police rushed to the place to pacify the provoked mourners.

In another incident at Haq Nawaz Shaheed locality, Ibrar Husain, Muhammad Imran and Kamran Yousaf, were arrested for chanting provocative slogans at Ibrar Park. It is pertinent to mention that Ibrar Park is situated adjacent to the Masjid Haq Nawaz Shaheed, the headquarters of outlawed Sipah-i-Sahaba, and is considered to be a highly sensitive area. —Correspondent
