Dollar slides

LONDON, Feb 7: The dollar slipped against the euro and yen on Tuesday, namely on fears that Japan’s biggest life insurer, Nippon Life, might shun a US Treasury auction this week.

The euro rose to $1.1971 in late European trading from $1.1964 in New York late on Monday.

The dollar fell to 118.08 yen, from 119.02 on Monday.

On the London Bullion Market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $558.70 per ounce compared to $569.75 on Monday evening.—AFP
