ISLAMABAD, Feb 6: ZTBL defeated PTCL by five runs under the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method of scoring after their Patron’s Cup Group ‘B’ match was hit by bad light at the KRL Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 289, ZTBL were 173-4 in 32 overs when light brought a halt to the game with Bilal Asad unbeaten on 39 along with Atif Ashraf who was 21 not out.

Hammad Tariq (40) top-scored for ZTBL while Naveed Qureshi stroked a useful 37 in a chase that had appeared well on track. Jawwad Hameed snapped up two wickets.

Earlier, skipper Aamir Bashir’s undefeated 97 and impressive scores notched up by Shahzad Malik (75) and Usman Tariq (74) helped PTCL post 288-9 off their 50 overs.

Rao Iftikhar was the top wicket-taker with 3-45.
