KARACHI, Feb 6: Special control rooms were set up in the province on Monday on the orders of Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui to monitor law and order situation during Muharram.
These control rooms have been set up in the offices of Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, home secretary Brig (retd) Ghulam Mohammad Muhtaram, Director-General Rangers Maj-Gen Javed Zia, IG Sindh Jahangir Mirza, CCPO Karachi Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui, DIG Operations Syed Mushtaq Ali Shah, RPO Hyderabad Bachal Sangri and RPO Sukkur Mohammad Akbar Arain.
Rauf Siddiqui has appealed to the citizens to contact these control rooms in case of any disturbance or abnormal situation.
REHEARSAL: A full-dress rehearsal of law enforcement agencies under Pakistan Rangers for maintaining law and order during Muharram was held here Monday evening.
A large number of personnel of Rangers and police, including motorcycle and mobile squads, took part in the rehearsal. The rehearsal started at 3pm and continued till late in the evening in which the law enforcers exhibited excellent professional discipline.— PPI/APP
