KARACHI, Feb 6: The University of Karachi on Monday declared the results of MA (final) external annual examination, 2004, with an overall pass percentage of 36.82. According to a KU notification, as many as 4,430 candidates appeared in the exams held in the subjects of Arabic, Economics, General History, Islamic History, Islamic Studies, International Relations, Mathematics, Political Science, Sindhi, Urdu and Urdu, out of which 1,631 passed.

Results of 53 candidates were withheld for want of registration or other particulars, while another 28 results were withheld on the ground of use of unfair means. The names of position holders are as follows: English: 1st - Pamela Yousuf, 2nd - Jawad Saleem; Economics: 1st - Kanwal Iftikhar, 2nd - Tahir Maqbool and 3rd - Tahir Maqbul Zuberi; General History: 1st - Sadiq Ahmed, 2nd - Neelam Nazeen and 3rd - Bilquis. Islamic History: 1st - Perwez Ahmed, 2nd - Anjum Bano and Sumera Manzoor, and 3rd - Sajida Shamim, Islamic Studies: 1st - Abdool Cadre Perye, 2nd - Tanveer Hasan Khan and 3rd - Saima Anwar. International Relation: 1st - Surosh Reshad, 2nd - Zarrin Saba Zephyr and 3rd -Saima Beg; Political Science: 1st - Ayesha Mumtaz, 2nd - Bushra Matloob and 3rd - Iffat Samreen; Sindhi: 1st - Miandad, 2nd - Ghulam Nabi and 3rd – Farazana; Urdu: 1st - Farah, 2nd - Faheema Amin and 3rd - Farida Afzal.
