Ivory Coast in semifinal

CAIRO, Feb 5: Ivory Coast beat Cameroon 12-11 on penalties after extra time finished 1-1 on Saturday to line up an African Nations Cup semi-final against Nigeria.

Ivorian captain Didier Drogba rifled home the winning spot kick after Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o, the tournament’s top scorer, missed his penalty following a poor display all night.

After 90 minutes of scrappy football, the game burst into life when Ivorian Bakary Kone rifled home in the second minute of extra time.

Cameroon levelled three minutes later through fellow substitute Albert Meyong Ze. But extra time yielded no more goals and the game went to the roulette of penalties.
