‘Rail route opening to strengthen relations’

By Our Correspondent

DADU, Feb 5: An 85-member delegation of Indian politicians, writers, journalists and folk singers arrived in Sehwan on Sunday. Led by MP Maanwind Singh, son of BJP leader Jaswant Singh, and MP Puspandan Gadobi, the delegation visited the shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.

Talking to journalists, Maanwind Singh expressed the hope that opening of the Khokhrapar-Monabao rail route would strengthen relations between India and Pakistan because it would facilitate visits by the people of the two countries. He said people would be able to meet their relatives across the border.

He said the people of Sindh had given them a lot of love and respect which they would not forget and added that they would receive the people of Pakistan in India with the same warmth.

MP Puspadan Gadobi said that keeping in view the love between the people of the two countries, all routes could be opened if the people and the governments of the countries wanted.

Journalist Tarun Vijay from Delhi said the opening of the Khokhrapar-Monabao route would bring the people of the two countries closer.

Singers Anwar Khan and Faqir Khan from Rajasthan held Qalandari Dhamal and sang “La Meri Pat Rakhio Bhala Jholi Lalan.”
