LARKANA, Feb 5: Activists of the Sindh National Party took out a procession here on Sunday to protest against opening the Khokhrapar-Munabao rail route. Led by Nasrullah Abro, the protesters burnt tyres on the Royal Road and raised slogans against the opening of the route.
Later, they demonstrated outside the local press club and observed a token hunger strike there.
Talking to journalists, the protesters termed the decision a move to convert Sindhis into a minority in the province.
They alleged that the government was opening the route only to serve interests of a coalition partner. They said the mala fide intention of the government was evident from cancelling eight stops from Khokhrapar to Zero Point.
They pledged to resist plans aimed at depriving Sindhis of their rights.
