KARACHI, Feb 5: About 210 tickets were sold so far since Wednesday last for inaugural journey of Thar Express that would mark the opening of Khokhrapar-Monabao train service after 40 years on Feb 18.

“We expect that the booking would cross over 250 by the evening today as more and more people were coming to get their seats reserved,” railway officials told PPI this afternoon.

The number of tickets sold on Wednesday night, the first day, was only 10 that rose to 100 on Thursday and about 200 by Saturday, Muhammad Hussein, Senior Reservation Supervisor at the Cantonment Station.

The government has made special arrangements on the eve of departure of the train on Feb 17 at 11pm. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad is expected to see off the train. —PPI
