KARACHI: Dr Salam remembered

KARACHI, Feb 5: Students from more than 15 schools and colleges spoke on life, works and contributions of Dr Abdus Salam for the establishment of scientific organizations in Pakistan at a seminar, organized by the Centre of Physics Education at the PIA Planetarium.

Prof Dr Tahira Arshad of the University of Tenessee, US, spoke about the humanistic qualities of Prof Salam, recounting her personal experiences.

The event was held to celebrate Dr Salam day, and speeches on grand unification theories and other topics were made by students.

Later, certificates were awarded among the participants by the organizers.
