ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed throughout Pakistan and on both sides of the Line of Control on Sunday. Kashmiris living across the globe will pledge their support to their right to self-determination.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will address a seminar on ‘Earthquake, Pakistan and Kashmir solidarity’ at the National Library auditorium, reaffirming unflinching diplomatic, moral and political support to the Kashmiris waging a heroic struggle to achieve their internationally recognized right to self-determination.
Banners and posters have been displayed in streets to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
The day will begin with special prayers for the Kashmir cause at mosques. Fateha and Quran Khawani would be held for martyrs.
Sirens will be sounded throughout the country to observe a one-minute silence to pay homage to the martyrs.
Rallies and processions will be held in the federal and provincial capitals and district and tehsil headquarters, calling upon India not to deviate from the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
Pakistan Television will air a marathon transmission.
