LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 4: District Nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan has called upon the federal government to allocate six per cent of GDP for education instead of 1.6 per cent.

“It will help overcome the problems being faced by teachers, students and educational institutions,” he said while speaking at the annual Sports Day function at Government Post-Graduate College here on Saturday.

The district nazim expressed resentment over old scientific equipment in Lakki and Ghaznikhel colleges and asked the provincial government to provide latest equipment.

He said the district government would make all out efforts to speed up work on the under construction sports stadium.

He announced a donation of Rs 40,000 for the organizers of the function and pledged that the district government would soon adopt a strategy to boost sporting activities in the district.
