President, PM to visit ICAP


KARACHI, Feb 4: President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have agreed to visit the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in Karachi at the date to be announced soon, said an ICAP press release.

It said that the president and the prime minister received International Federation of Accountants president Graham Ward and IFAC chief executive Ian Ball along with ICAP president Syed Shabbar Zaidi, CBR chairman Abdullah Yousuf and SECP chairman Razi-ur-Rahman Khan in their offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, respectively on Friday.

President Musharraf apprised the IFAC officials about the important role of Pakistan in future world. He acknowledged the need for a state-of-the-art university of accounting and finance to improve human development in this field.

The prime minister discussed at length the national and international issues being faced by the accounting profession.—PPI
