KARACHI, Feb 2: An 11-year-old boy committed suicide after being admonished by his mother at his residence in Baldia Town on Thursday. Ataur Rehman did not go to school and made excuses to his mother, who admonished him and insisted him to go to school regularly. Instead, Ata went to a room, searched for the licensed pistol of his father, and shot himself in the abdomen.

Hearing the sound of the shot, his mother rushed to the room and found his son in a pool of blood. Ata was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died.

KILLED: A man was shot dead by unidentified men in Mehmoodabad late Wednesday night.

Police said Bashir Tanoli, 27, was intercepted by some unidentified men in Channesar Goth, who shot him and fled. The wounded was shifted to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police could not locate the killers.

BODY FOUND: The body of a man was found near a storm water drain in Orangi Town on Wednesday.

Police said the body was found in Sector 12-L, which was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. The man, in his late 30s, might have drowned, hospital sources said.

ACCIDENTS: A motorcyclist died after his motorcycle skidded in New Karachi. Police said a child came in front of a motorcyclist, Ghulam Dastagir, who tried to save him.

As a result, his motorcycle skidded and hit an electric pole along the road. He suffered serious head injuries and died on the way to hospital.

In the Sharifabad police limits, an unidentified man in his mid 30s, died when an unknown vehicle hit him and sped away. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. The body was kept at Edhi morgue for identification.

WOUNDED: Two men were shot at and wounded during robberies at various localities on Wednesday.

A man, Mansoor Riaz, 34, was intercepted by bandits in Sector 11-A, North Karachi. The bandits snatched a mobile phone and Rs20,000 from Mansoor, who put up resistance. The bandits shot him and fled.

In Babar Market, Landhi, unknown bandits intercepted Saghir Ahmed and snatched a mobile phone and cash from him. On his resistance, the bandits shot him and fled.
