KARACHI, Feb 2: The neurosurgery department of the Liaquat National Hospital as part of its continuing medical education programme has arranged a series of lectures on brain tumour.
Prof Kazuo Hashi from Japan was invited as guest speaker at the session held on Thursday. He shared some of his most complicated neurosurgical cases, his experiences and detailed account of his approach to handle these with the local medical students and young as well as experienced neurosurgeons of the LNH as well as those from other institutions.
Dr Jalaluddin from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh also spoke on the occasion along with Prof Iftikhar Raja, former chief executive Mayo Hospital.
The three guest speakers explicitly discussed varied types of brain tumours, their manifestations and associated risks. The session was also attended by some of the patients as well as neurosurgeons, neurologists, oncologists, pathologists and other health care professionals belonging to different hospitals.
Dr Salman Sharif, Dr Ejaz Aslam and Dr Rafay Zafar were the organizers of the programme.—APP
