Bankers down Army

LAHORE, Feb 1: Five goals by in-form Dhruvpal Godara guided Guard Filters to 7-5 1/2 win over Suzuki Township Motors in Sahir Low Goal Polo Cup on Wednesday.

Godara, who is enjoying his polo season at Lahore Polo Club fired back-to-back goals in the first chukker to reduce the 2 1/2 goal handicap advantage of the losers to half goal.

The losers maintained the half goal lead (3 1/2-3) as both teams scored one each. Taimur Ali Khan struck for the winners while Taimur Mawaz Khan for the losers.

The third chukker saw, Guard Filters surge ahead 5-4 1/2 for the first time as Godara struck his third and Raja Samiullah chipped in with a goal. Taimur Mawaz scored his second for the losers.

Godara pumped in two more goals in the fourth chukker while Maula Baksh banged home for the losers to complete the tally.

Five goals by Jote Chauanne helped Bank Alfalah register an 8-2 win against Army.

The losers had a two-goal handicap and failed to score any goal.

Hissam Ali Hyder scored the remaining three goals.
