KARACHI, Feb 1: Pakistan created a unique world record when Abdul Razzaq became the seventh consecutive batsman to score a fifty in the same innings on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old all-rounder, who was 44 overnight in Pakistan’s second innings total of 511 for five, was dismissed for 90 before the home team declared its second innings at 599 for seven on the fourth morning of the third Test against India.

On Tuesday Pakistan equalled the previous landmark of most successive 50s, a feat which was accomplished by two other teams in the history of Test cricket when the first six batsmen crossed the 50-run milestone in the same innings.

Pakistan, in fact, have done it once before while England and India also had the honour of achieving this rare feat.
