Newly-wed woman killed by husband

OKARA, Feb 1: A newly wed woman and a man were murdered in separate incidents on Tuesday. Sheeman of Sadiq Ganj, Bahawalnagar, was married a few weeks ago with Falak Sher of Basirpur. Falak Sher reportedly took Sheeman to Jafar’s house where he strangled her with the help of Alaf Yar and Jafar.

Reasons for the murder could not be known.

Basirpur police have registered a case on the report of Maqbool, the father of the woman.

In another incident, Ayub and Zulfiqar had developed a feud over the construction of a drain in Chak 52/2-L. Zulfiqar along with his accomplices Tajamal, Tasawar, Inayat and Wasim shot Ayub to death.

Police have registered a case.

SUICIDE: Rafique reportedly hanged himself to death with a rope tied to the ceiling fan in his house in Basti Noor Muhammad, Deepalpur city.

According to his brother Allah Yar, Rafique was insane and committed suicide.

Police are investigating.

BURNT: A Hafiz-i-Quran, Aslam, of Mohallah Peer Islam, Haveli Lakkha, lit a candle in his room as power went off and went to sleep. The burning candle fell on his bed as a result of which the bed and the carpet caught fire.

His neighbours broke open the door of his room and found his charred body.
