LARKANA, Feb 1: A team of doctors on Wednesday exhumed the body of a man who had been killed allegedly by his sons and buried in their house about a month ago. The team comprised Dr Abdul Rauf Shaikh and Dr Roshan Soomro. Civil judge-I Zulfikar Shaikh and Shahdadkot Taluka Nazim Sardar Ali Jarwar were also present.
The doctors preserved the viscera of the deceased Lal Bakhsh Magsi and preliminary findings showed that a sharp weapon had been used in the crime.
Sources said the team sent the viscera to a laboratory in Karachi for tests.
Three days ago, Dhayani, wife of the deceased, had told her relatives that her sons, in collusion with their in-laws, had killed their father and buried him in the house.
Police also recorded her statement in which she said her sons had threatened her that she would also be killed if she told any one about the murder.
Ramzan Magsi, a brother of the deceased who had lodged an FIR against Mir Hassan Magsi, Mumtaz Magsi, Mumtaz Brohi and Zulfikar Brohi, told journalists on Wednesday that the deceased’s sons, Mir Hassan and Mumtaz Magsi, and their brothers-in-law, Mumtaz Brohi and Zulfikar Brohi, had killed his brother.
A dispute over property is said to be the motive behind the incident.
Meanwhile, Sukkur RPO Akbar Aarain suspended the supervising officer of the Shahdadkot investigation police, Farid Memon, and posted inspector Zahid Hussain Tunio in his place, sources said.
