Ex-nazim arrested for land fraud

MARDAN, Feb 1: Police have arrested former nazim of Gumbat union council Nawaz Khan in a land fraud case and obtained his three-day remand from a court. Shujaat Khan, a former school principal, had lodged an FIR against the former nazim with the Shahbaz Garhi police station. Nawaz with two accomplices was accused of fraudulently selling six acres of agricultural land of the complainant.

The two accomplices were identified as Ghaffar Ali and Akhtar of the Gumbat village. The police, after arresting the former nazim, produced him in a local court and obtained his remand on Monday.
