DADU, Jan 31: A Mashak aircraft of the Pakistan Army made a forced landing at Akro near Pattaro at 1.50pm on Tuesday. Police sources said Maj-Gen Shahid of the Engineering Corps, Karachi, had come to Sehwan on Tuesday by the aircraft and visited some parts of the Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD) between Sann and Sehwan.
After visiting the RBOD, he was flying to Hyderabad when the aircraft developed some technical fault near Akro.
The pilot of the aircraft, Maj Zahid decided to make a forced landing.
The DPO of Jamshoro, Atta Chandio said that he rushed to the spot along with Kotri TPO Aftab Nizamani and the SHO of Jamshoro and pulled Maj-Gen Shahid and the pilot out of the aircraft. He said both officers had sustained minor injuries.
He said that only two army officers were aboard the aircraft.
Our Hyderabad correspondent adds: An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain causes of the accident, an ISPR spokesman said.
He said the aircraft took off from PAF’s Sharea Faisal base and the incident occurred near the Petaro Cadet college.
