Security, trade pacts likely with BD

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, Jan 31: Pakistan and Bangladesh are expected to sign a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding on agriculture research, trade, tourism and counter-terrorism during Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s scheduled Feb 12-14 visit to Islamabad, said sources here.

An inter-ministerial meeting at the foreign ministry on Monday made a preliminary list for increased cooperation.

The commerce ministry has prepared a list of 11 potential items for duty-free access to Pakistan’s market. Agreements on cooperation between the home ministries on counter-terrorism, drug trafficking, smuggling and illegal passports were likely to be signed, officials said.
