LAHORE, Jan 31: Half-centuries by Naved Latif and Naumanullah enabled National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to earn an 88-run lead on the first innings against PTCL on the penultimate day of Patron’s Trophy Grade-I at Sheikhupura Stadium on Tuesday.
Naved hit 62 with nine fours and two sixes while Nauman Ullah made 59 that included 10 boundaries as the bankers piled up 405 after resuming first innings at 223 for four wickets while replying to PTCL’s first innings score of 317.
Leg-spinner Muhammad Hussain (4-103) and medium pacer Tahir Mughal (4-109) bowled well to share eight wickets.
The bankers further consolidated the position by reducing PTCL to 131-5 in the second innings by close of play—only 43
runs ahead with five wickets in hand.
Babar Naeem and Mohammad Hussain batted well for PTCL against some quality bowling from medium pacer Yasir Arafat who claimed two wickets.
