FAISALABAD, Jan 31: A special team, headed by the deputy district officer (revenue), raided two hotels here on Monday night and found their managements serving meal to marriage guests.

Managers of both hotels admitted before the raiding team that they had arranged meal for the marriage guests.

Cases have been sent to the court of the local magistrate.

Meanwhile, district and sessions judge Abdul Waheed Khan has deputed civil judge Irfan Anjum as magistrate to deal with the complaints under the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) Ordinance 2000.

The district coordination officer has also been asked to furnish a weekly report about the filing of such complaints on the last working day of each week.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead allegedly by his son over a petty dispute in Chak 229-GB of Khurrianwala on Tuesday. Mohsin developed altercation with his son, Ali Sher, over a domestic dispute. Ali Sher shot dead his father and escaped.
