QUETTA Jan 31: The Pakistan Workers Party (PEP) has hailed the government’s decision to provide protection to the Kalpar and the Masuri sub-clans of the Bugti tribe to return back to their homeland in Sui and Bekar respectively.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Tuesday, PWP President Nasrullah Khan Kakar said that resettlement of the expelled tribesmen proved that the government was determined to establish its writ and to safeguard interest of innocent citizens.

He alleged that excesses of influential personalities in Dera Bugti, Kohlu and Qila Abdullah had forced their opponents to migrate from their forefather’s lands. He maintained that affected families of these areas were helplessly wandering in Karachi, Sukkur and Multan.

He lauded President Musharraf’s courageous decision to make security arrangements for return of tribesmen from different areas of Punjab and Sindh to their homeland in Sui and Bekar areas.

PWP President said that so-called Sardars, Nawabs and Khans on one hand were giving inhuman treatment to their fellow tribesmen and on the other hand they were thwarting development projects in order to maintain their political grip on innocent tribesmen.

He demanded of the government to take stern action against the saboteurs who were damaging railway tracks, electricity pylons and bridges.
