KARACHI: AC convicts man

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 31: An accountability court convicted on Tuesday the front man of a former chief engineer of roads and works department, Sindh. Judge Hasan Feroze of the AC-2 sentenced Pervaiz Ahmed Dahiri to a five-year term for keeping the assets and wealth illegally amassed by his uncle and father-in-law Allah Dino Dahiri, who was earlier convicted for corruption.

According to prosecution, the former Sindh government official amassed assets and wealth through illegal means and transferred them in the name of his nephew, Parvaiz Ahmed Dahiri.

The court had earlier sentenced Allah Dino Dahiri to suffer a seven-year term in a separate reference. His nephew was declared absconder in the case.
