KARACHI, Jan 31: Four vessels to unload and load containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. For the second day in a row berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as port agencies tried to clear the backlog caused by large arrivals of foreign flag ships.

The ships, which were berthed included Orient Independence, Yang Jiang He, Ever Guard, PAC Antlia, Thor Captain and Global Prosperity to unload and load containers, Seven Star, and Annemieke, to unload and load general cargo.

Seven ships, Orient Independence, Noble Star, PONL Vera Cruz, Troburg, Pescadores Bulker, Olar and Annemieke departed on Tuesday, while Stella Terza, Irene, Ever Guard, Irong Butterfly, PAC Antlia and West Gold are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side totalling 98,844 tons comprising 40,942 tons of export cargo and 55,902 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Wedneday: Hyundai Sprinter, Y.M.Fortune, Kota Tabah and Marcalabria, with containers.
