PCB earns Rs567.5m in 2004-05

ISLAMABAD, Jan 30: The National Assembly was on Monday informed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earned Rs567,579,991 in the financial year 2004-05.

The Minister of Sports Muhammad Ajmal Khan stated this in a written reply to Sabir Hussain Awan.

The amount includes money earned through tours abroad and within Pakistan, television rights and sponsorships.

The following is the break-up of PCB’s income for the last three years:

Tours outside Pakistan 2002-03 (participation fee 511,575,487); 2003-04 (492,633); 2004-05 (318,610,999)

Tours inside Pakistan 2002-03 (television rights 92,643,468, gate money 1,360,521, sponsorship fee 4,944,840, advertisement 1,745, 311)

Tours inside Pakistan 2003-04 (television rights 891,129,867, radio rights 9,185,651, gate money 89,836,008, sponsorship fee 345,725,106, advertisement 105,746,352, video streaming rights 23,063,324, misc income 5,032,513)

Tours inside Pakistan 2004-05 (television rights 68,084,671, gate money 6,104,945, sponsorship fee 14,853,400, advertisement 6,365,743)

Domestic tournaments 2002-03 (5,131,220); 2003-04 (7,154,600); 2004-05 (8,000,000)

Sponsorship and logo 2002-03 (56,571,924) 2003-04 (12,806,496); 2004-05 (28,443,108)

Rentals 2002-03 (18,101,656); 2003-04 (42,848,330), 2004-05 (45,775,858)

Other income (subscriptions, interest on deposits and misc) 2002- 03 (92,131,315); 2003-04 (89,260,387); 2004-05 (71,341,267)

Total 2002-03 (784,305,742); 2003-04 (1,622,281,267), 2004-05 (567,579,991).

Meanwhile responding to Mrs Fauzia Wahab’s question on PCB’s total budget for the financial year 2005-06, the minister provided the following figures:

Total income: Rs 2,380,000,000 Less revenue budget (772,300,000) Capital budget (542,400,000) Excess of income over expenses: 1,066,700,000.
