ISLAMABAD, Jan 30: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed the managements of three cooperative housing societies to immediately stop development activities in Sector E- 11 and submit the required documents to the authority.

According to a letter, the authority has served notices on Services Cooperative Housing Society (SCHS), Federation of Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FECHS) and Pakistan Medical Cooperative Housing Society (PMCHS). A copy of the letter has also been sent to the CDA’s Enforcement Directorate to demolish the entire illegal infrastructure.

The housing societies have failed to meet the required formalities framed by the authority under Zoning Regulations - 1992. The CDA’s director Urban Planning had directed the three housing societies to furnish the required documents without further delay.

“It has been observed by the authority that you have started development works at the site without prior approval of the layout plan and no-objection certificate.

Under the circumstances, you are directed to immediately stop development works at sites, otherwise, illegal development works would be demolished,” the notice said.

SALARY RAISED: ,/B>The CDA on Monday raised the salary of its deputy directors-general and senior directors by Rs2,000 and Rs1,500 respectively. The monthly salary of the officials has been increased in the name of special allowance, a source in the authority said.

A special allowance of Rs2,000 has been given to the Deputy Director-General (Administration) Suleman Sahito, Deputy Director-General (Works) Samiullah Jan, Deputy Director-General (Planning) Iqbal Noori and Deputy Director-General (Estate Management) Saadullah Khan Zimri.

The authority has given the status of senior director to 10 of its directors and gave them a special allowance of Rs1,500.
