Prof Hasan acting VC

LAHORE, Jan 30: The Punjab governor has approved the appointment of Prof Mumtaz Hasan as acting vice-chancellor of the newly-reconstituted King Edward Medical University.

The health department has forwarded the formal approval to the S&GAD department for a notification regarding Prof Hasan’s appointment as KEMU vice-chancellor on an acting charge basis.

Soon after the reconstitution of the KEMC as KEMU, the health department had moved a summary for college’s principal Prof Hasan’s appointment as acting VC through the chief minister. On the recommendation of the chief minister, the governor, who is KEMU chancellor, approved his appointment.

Health secretary Javed Malik said his department had forwarded the formal approval of Prof Hasan’s appointment as acting VC to the S&GAD department for a notification. He hoped the notification would be issued on Tuesday (today).
