JHANG, Jan 30: A rape victim has sought help of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Jhang chapter, after failing to convince police to bring to book the accused.

At the HRCP office here on Monday, schoolteacher Bilquis Zafar of Garh Maharaja alleged Azhar Dar with the help of Najma and Sattan Mai abducted her a year ago. He sold her to Fazal Abbas and Jabbar who took her to an unknown place and raped her for a month. Later, they handed her over to Ismail and Mumtaz who also raped her. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son some two months ago.

A month ago, she escaped from their custody and approached the Garh Maharaja police to get a case registered against the accused, but the SHO refused to do so.

She has appealed to the HRCP highups to help her get justice.

Meanwhile, HRCP’s Jhang coordinator Qamar Abbas Zaidi, who is also district coordinator of the Alliance against Child Abuse, has urged the DPO to arrest the accused who had sodomized 13-year old Waseem in Chiniot.

Wasim, who was sodomized by Akram, Shahzad and Bhola Gujjar, has been shifted to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, in a critical condition.

DOUBLE MURDER: A man murdered his sister and her alleged lover near Mochiwala on Monday.

Reports said Noor Bakhat of Chak 163-GB had relations with her cousin, Jaffar Khan. On Monday, she was sitting with Jaffar when her brothers, Mohammad Ali and Rab Nawaz, killed both of them.

The police have registered a case.

ARRESTED: Jhang police claim to have arrested three dacoits after an encounter from Rehmat Colony on Sunday.

A policeman and a dacoit were injured during the shootout.

On a tip off that three criminals, including Shabbir and Mulazim, wanted by the police in many cases of dacoity, murder and robbery, were hiding in a house of Rehmat Colony, Gojra Road, the police conducted a raid. On seeing the police, the criminals opened fire which was retaliated.

In the crossfire, Mulazim and constable Aslam were injured. The police arrested all three criminals.
