RAWALPINDI, Jan 30: At least three Railway employees - suspected to be involved in what the railway authorities said “tampering with track” in Sunday’s train accident, are being questioning by the investigating team, Dawn has learnt.

A senior official of the Pakistan Railways revealed that about six employees, who were on duty at Domeli sector on Sunday, are being interrogated in connection with yesterday’s train accident as a spanner and nut bolts, which were railways property, had been recovered from the scene of derailment.

He said that involvement of two to three employees could not be ruled out but non of them had been formally taken into custody. He said spanner and other tools had either been stolen by saboteurs or taken away some way or the other.

The train driver and the fireman are among those being probed by the investigating team, the source said. Three separate teams have been formed to investigate into the accident.
