KARACHI: Mobile bookshop

KARACHI, Jan 30: A mobile bookshop of the Oxford University Press Pakistan was formally inaugurated here on Monday. This was described as an innovative venture and first of its kind in the country. OUP Managing Director Ameena Sayed inaugurated the facility.

The mobile bookshop will stock a wide range of books which include dictionaries and reference books, children’s books, academic and general books for adults, school and college textbooks.

Initially it will be parked in Karachi, moving gradually to the suburbs and then to the interior of the province.

It will spend three months in Karachi and Sindh and will then travel to Punjab followed by the NWFP and Islamabad and then back to Karachi stopping en route at smaller towns.

The schools will also benefit from the book fair as the mobile bookshop will put up on the school premises or nearby.—APP
