KARACHI: Muharram security measures


KARACHI, Jan 29: Sindh police have established a central control room at the Central Police Office for 24-hour monitoring during Muharram to ensure fool-proof security for mourning processions and Majalis throughout the province.

Sindh police has prepared a contingency plan for Moharram on the directives of Inspector-General of Police Jehangir Mirza. The CCR would operate under the supervision of AIG (Operations), said a police statement issued here on Sunday.

IGP Jehangir Mirza has also directed CCPO Karachi and Regional Police Officers of Sukkur and Hyderabad to take measure to develop effective communication network between the police control rooms of their respective regions and the central control room.

People have been advised to cooperate with police and inform them about any suspicious thing or person they find to ensure security during Muharram.
