Terrorist fancied for another win

KARACHI, Jan 28: Four-year-old chestnut colt, Terrorist, is fancied to win again when the Winter Gymkhana race meeting takes place at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

He is drawn in the five furlongs concluding event in which 17 contestants would be vying for honours.

Jockey Shafi Muhammad sprinted the colt to victory by three lengths on Jan 22. He should be chased by Leo Again and Smiling Face. The former finished second behind Terrorist in the last outing while the latter was among those who also featured.

A card of nine races, three going over a distance of six furlongs and the remaining to five, has been chalked out for the day. The first race begins at 12.30 pm.

Five-year-old mare, Silent Love, should gallop to victory in the opener which will have a field of eight runners. Bank Manager and Samroon should settle for the places.

After sprinting to victory in the New Year meeting, chestnut Bank Manager relegated to places in the following outings. On the other hand, Samroon occupied third place in the div V class V11 five furlongs race on Jan 25.

Bay horse Laurel is fancied to repeat his winning performance by picking up spoils in the second race. A. Aziz piloted laurel home by 11 furlongs on Jan 15.

He should be chased by King Of The Field and Super Time for the following two places.

Aie Bahar is fancied to get away with honours in the third race to make it two in a row. He was home by five lengths in the last outing.

Bay horse, Silver City and mare, Countess Mah Again, should battle it out for the second and third slots.

Thoroughbred Fakhar-e-Sanghar is poised to oblige punters in the six furlongs fourth race. He should be followed by Captain Black and Excalibur.

With New Year Cup under her belt mare, Bang On Target, should grab honours in the next race. She is drawn in a pack of seven contestants.

Mare Princess Ridda, bay horse Deniro and filly Voo Doo Doll should prove their mettle in the following races by winning honours.
