Four killed on road

By Our Correspondent

SAHIWAL, Jan 28: Four people, including three members of a family, were reportedly killed on Saturday.

A retired subedar, Ziauddin, was going to Chak 57/5-L with his wife Parveen and daughter Sidra, 8, by his motorcycle in the afternoon when a speeding trailer (GLT-3197) knocked them down on the GT Road near Chak 52/5-L. They died on the spot.

Motorway police have arrested trailer driver Manzoor Ahmad and handed him to Yousafwala police.

Meanwhile, a rashly driven car (LXL-2299) hit a bicycle outside the Government Girls College as a result of which Surayya was killed on the spot while her brother Manzoor sustained serious injuries.

The car driver sped away from the scene.
